By the end of this workshop, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: 1) more about hand sewing tools and how to make simple hand stitches, 2) know parts of the industrial and portable sewing machine, 3) able to handle sewing machines safely while making different types of stitches, and 4) demonstrate the ability to stitch two fabrics together.
BenchLab Talented Instructor: Humaira Zakaria of HZNO. You’ll be learning from this young, humble and vibrant talent from Brunei. Humaira studied Fashion and Textiles Design at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, where she learned how to sew, do pattern-making, sketch and turn fashion ideas into a real collection of clothes. Her final year project was selected to be showcased during London Graduate Fashion Week. She has also presented her work at the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017 during Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week. An educator and an owner of fashion company, Humaira hopes to further strengthen the bridge between education and fashion.
