By the end of this workshop, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: 1) how photographic process works by creating their own sun print using found objects, 2) how to make blue prints by exposing light-sensitive paper to light, 3) how the sunlight develops their photograph by turning exposed areas to blue colours and the covered one into white areas and 4) how to “fix” the image permanently by rinsing with water.
BenchLab Talented Instructor: Siti Rawini of Pupu.Shi. You’ll be learning from a passionate printmaker. She is drawn towards practical things – handmade items and handprinted works. Hand carving and hand printing have become her way of maintaining focus and meditation. She is also the owner of Pupu.Shi, a brand that focuses on hand carved stamps, block prints and illustrations. In addition, she has a BFA in Fine Arts from Kyungpook National University, Daegu South Korea. She studied Printmaking during her third and final year and has been in love with printmaking since then. From there, she began to work on hand carving rubber stamp which is an alternative to woodcut, carving small sizes and then proceed with illustrations carved on lino rubber. At 2016, she started to receive custom rubber stamps and did few workshops on rubber stamping and relief printmaking.
