By the end of this workshop, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: 1) the basic carving tools and materials, 2) how to transfer design onto rubber block, 3) how to handle the carving tools properly, 4) how to learn to mix colours and roll ink onto rubber block and 5) how to print the pattern on your tote bags!
BenchLab Talented Instructor: Siti Rawini of Pupu.Shi. You’ll be learning from a passionate printmaker. She is drawn towards practical things – handmade items and handprinted works. Hand carving and hand printing have become her way of maintaining focus and meditation. She is also the owner of Pupu.Shi, a brand that focuses on hand carved stamps, block prints and illustrations. In addition, she has a BFA in Fine Arts from Kyungpook National University, Daegu South Korea. She studied Printmaking during her third and final year and has been in love with printmaking since then. From there, she began to work on hand carving rubber stamp which is an alternative to woodcut, carving small sizes and then proceed with illustrations carved on lino rubber. At 2016, she started to receive custom rubber stamps and did few workshops on the rubber stamp and relief printmaking.
