Duration: 10 hours for Pattern Making Modules & 10 hours for Sewing Modules
Registration Deadline: 3 July 2018
Workshop Fee: BND 160 for 20 hours (BND10 for every additional hour)

Recommendation: Bring along your excitement and your own fabric if you’d like to transfer your pattern.


By the end of this course, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: 1) how to handle machines, equipment and tools safely, 2) the terminology used in pattern-making, sewing, and textiles, 3) how to make and manipulate patterns for your selected project (a simple dress, a kimono, a basic shirt, a blouse, a skirt, or a pair of flared trousers), 4) how to sketch the technical details for your selected project, 5) how to conduct quality check for your patterns, 6) how to transfer your patterns to fabrics, 7) how to cut and assemble fabric pieces, 8) how to sew and finish your selected project, and 9) how to get creative with sewing projects.

BenchLab Talented Instructor: Aisyah Azlan of ÉTAH & Humaira Zakaria of HZNO. Aisyah is a local talent with experience in pattern-cutting, sewing, digital embroidery and leather stitching. The Birmingham City University School of Fashion graduate once interned with Roland Mouret, a luxury French designer brand, and dreamed of spreading her love for fashion across Brunei. Today, she’s a designer for a sustainable fashion brand ÜPSYKL and a menswear brand, MUDASER. Humaira is the brilliant designer behind HZNO who studied Fashion and Textiles Design at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. Her final year project was selected to be showcased during London Graduate Fashion Week. She was also selected to be part of the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017 during Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week.
