BenchLab Talented Instructor: Cheong Yee Kuan of Gary Fun Beads. You’ll be learning from a full time jewelry designer and handicrafts event organizer of Craftworks Kitani. This talented lady has been playing with beads and strings since she was 8 years old and started to take proper lessons at the age of 12. A decade after, she made her first safety breakable lanyard and after attending courses on jewelry making at New York Institute of Art and Design, she is now a certified jewelry designer. Feeling frustrated on not getting any qualified jeweler to restore her precious jewelries, she initiated the service herself and she has been providing high quality jewelries customization and restoration services to her clients ever since. With this workshop, Cheong Yee Kuan hopes to share the basic fundamental to jewelry designing as she believes in the ingenious of designing with things people already have instead of making something from scratch.
