By the end of this workshop, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: 1) how to prepare the chalkboard surface in terms of sketching the pre-designs, 2) the basic shapes and characteristics of lettering styles, 3) how to use different type of lettering styles, 4) the basic knowledge and theory of letterforms to be used in certain designs, and 5) how to add embellishments, floral designs and dimension to chalkboard.

BenchLab Talented Instructor: Hidayatul Farizah of Creative Velocity. You’ll be learning from a self-taught art enthusiast who enjoys exploring different kind of handcraft skills. Hidayatul is a full-time developer, programmer and IT officer who has engaged herself with several creative hobbies at a very young age. She started taking up chalk ink lettering as her favourite past time hobby since 2017. What she loves about this form of lettering is that it gives a very rustic looks and emphasizing the different dimensions using the medium. She has done commissioned chalk ink lettering products for her relatives who bought it as a gift to others and customized wedding presents for her friends. Hidayatul is excited to share her knowledge with others who has yet to learn this unique type of lettering and hopes they will continue sharing the same passion with their own creative ideas.
