Recommendation: Bring along your excitement and own cotton fabric (4m). If you don't have any, fabrics will be on sale at the workshop.
By the end of this workshop, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: the introduction to Brunei traditional baju kurong, 2) how to measure a body or clothing sample using appropriate tools, 3) the correct technique to draw a pattern for baju kurong, 4) the proper method to cut fabric, 5) how to sew and construct the different fabric parts of the baju kurong together, 6) the correct technique to sew the neckline and button of the baju kurong, 7) how to sew pockets into the sides of the baju kurong, 8) how to properly sew the waistline for the skirt and 9) the finishing touches of the baju kurong such as the shoulders sponges and the hems of the sleeves.
BenchLab Talented Instructor: Hasni Binti Othman of HBO signature. You’ll be learning from a multi-talented businesswoman who has been active in the entrepreneurial world for 6 years now. One of her talents is in womenswear design, such as shawls. She was also featured on ‘Rampai Pagi’ Show, RTB in multiple segments. Equipped with her passion for upcycling old clothes into useful products, Hasni wishes to extend her knowledge on basic sewing which you can use the skill to make your very own traditional baju kurong.
