By the end of this workshop, you are officially #MadeInBenchLab and will know: 1) the history of Mandala and its application in the modern times as a method of therapy for mental health and well-being, 2) how to create their own mandala by teaching various geometric and organic shapes, symbols, patterns, colours and lines, 3) how to project inner thoughts onto paper through the process of making a mandala and 4) the importance of their overall well-being through the artistic process of making a mandala.
BenchLab Talented Instructor: Nadiah Suhaili. You’ll be learning from an art therapist who has a Masters in Mental Health, Art Therapy from University of Queensland, Brisbane. On top of her studies, Nadiah also had experience working at Youth and Family Wellbeing Team and Zion nursing home in Brisbane and whilst doing her placement, she attended several training courses on Grief and Loss and PTSD clients. Not only that, but she has also conducted a workshop for parents with autistic children that aimed to share what Art Therapy is and how the skills could be applied with their children. In this particular workshop, Nadiah hopes that people will find that mental health is as important and doing this therapeutic activity can help in clearing their minds whilst opening up to one another with sharing their experiences!
